What is Happiness?

There are so many views and opinions on what happiness is in this world. Buying a house or a car or a even a new pair of shoes can bring someone happiness. Let’s face it though, today advertising and media promotes spending money to be happy. So money and material things definitely make people happy. I admit I love when I get something new. It is exciting and fresh and makes me really happiness but that happiness is only temporary. The reason being as time goes something new turns to something old and you have to buy it again. That happiness is only temporary and just brings us to want more and more and the media does not help us when we want more clothes entertainment or even cars. Granite some things we need to survive but some things  can wait as well. Luke 12:15  ESV And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Just what is the happiness that is permanent?  What truly makes us happy? What happiness pierces our souls? I think we all try to find that happiness throughout our lives but sometimes still find ourselves empty. What makes me happy inside and out is compassion towards people no matter if they want it or not, they still hear what you are saying. To sum up what makes me happy is unconditional love for people. whether its family or friends or even strangers you meet in public. To find this happiness we have to open up our souls and hearts to something greater then we can imagine not relying on earthly possessions. Luke 6:38 ESV Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Our father the lord is the only one that can give us the happiness we need in our lives so we feel complete. He gives us the unconditional love that creates everlasting happiness. Having God in our personal and family life is the main ingredient for this amazing lasting happiness that we are given. John 16:24 ESV Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. With the Lord in our lives we can always ask him for help in our lives and he will give it to us. With God we always know we will be happy in our lives.

Dear God help me to be happy more in my life for what I have. please give me the strength and courage to follow you and realise your love for me.
In this world we live in, temptations to do the wrong thing are everywhere and difficult to get over. Help me to see your goodness and love which is more than everywhere, help me to cope with lifes hurts and trials. Help me to realize that earthly happiness won’t give me what I need in my life
Help me to have the strenght to be happy with you always, in this life and the next. In Jesus name Amen.

God is Enough

We live in a fast pace world where if you don’t add up or go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds your not gonna make it or your a failure. You have to forget about having a life because it interferes with being successful or achieving the best. There is such a high expectation on how to live it leaves us alone lost and depressed. Our self esteem is shot and we lose passion in our life because we don’t add up to the worlds expectations. We lose ourselves in living up to the worlds expectations by trying to get the best jobs, trying to improve our looks or even trying to get the best and latest stuff. Its not wrong to seek these but when we are trying to be somebody to the world we get lost and abandon or family and friends then we end up wanting more cause what we have is not good enough. If we let God in and trust him to fill our hearts we will then know his love is all we need to be full in our lives. No TV advertisement magazines or internet will influence us to be the best because we will be the best and achieve the best having God in our lives guiding us and strengthening us to love like never before. We will see our lives in a whole different light and we will love to the fullest. Loving ourselves, people and or friends and families, being happy and blessed for what we have and for who we are. Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid, nor dismayed; for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” God will definitely guide us in our life and pursuits to be better as long as we allow him to enter our hearts.

God thank you for what you have given me. I may not have a bunch of stuff, I may not get every thing I think I want, but I definitely have enough and I am enough. I have you and rejoice in your provisions! You are my provider and I have never gone without a necessity being fulfilled. Even in my weakness, your grace is sufficient. To believe this is a daily struggle. My flesh doesn’t believe it like my heart does. I ask that you would help me to always rejoice in all that you have provided for my family and I. I pray that I remain humble and thankful in Jesus name AMEN!

Rebuilding From a Loss

We all have been through losses in one form or another some big some small, whether its from divorce or death from a loved one or even loss of income and anything that comes from that loss. In such losses in our lives we become broken and tend to lose hope in life and even in ourselves. We become so depressed and check out mentally because we feel so worthless to the people around us. These losses takes a piece of our heart every time something happens. That love or a piece of us we had is gone and we don’t have the strength or know what to do so we lose ourselves in the negative aspects of these losses We turn to drugs alcohol, or things that don’t benefit our growth and bring us down. We search for something to fill that hole in our heart and still find nothing. This devastation can be so severe not to only us but to the loved ones around us. There is a solution to all of this though It is building a relationship with God. There is so much proof around us that he is the only one who can fill our hearts beyond full and we get so much more from him then anything can offer. “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 (NLT) He gave is only begotten son so that we can live without worries and stress in our life. All we have to do is have faith and give him all of our baggage to release ourselves from the prison of sin. ” He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world”. 1 John 2:2 (NLT)
Dear Lord,
Please help me in this time of loss and grief. I don’t understand why my life is filled with this pain and heartache. But I turn my eyes to you as I seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. I will wait on you and not despair; I will quietly wait for your salvation. My heart is crushed, but I know that you will not abandon me forever. Please show me your compassion, Lord. Help me through the pain so that I will hope in you again. I believe this promise in your Word to send me fresh mercy each day. Though I can’t see past today, I trust your great love will never fail me.

I’m not Strong Enough.

Here is my first blog. I am just writing about life and what God can do in our lives based on what I know with some scriptural references. Anything and everything that we need help with. there will be personal examples as well. I will write specific areas on what I went through for the week So enjoy! When I think of not being strong I think of heavy lifting like weights or moving a freezer or fridge. When I see something I can’t lift I just stand there and procrastinate scratching my head. When I go to the gym it makes it worse because I see those big guys lifting three times there weight and I’m standing there not wanting to embarrass  myself  just lifting barely anything don’t get me wrong I can lift quite a bit but not as much as those muscle guys. What about not being strong enough emotionally and spiritually? We’ve all been through things in our lives that burned us or even brought us too our knees. Not just once or twice but many times. an example would be drug or alcohol abuse. It is so habitual it is almost impossible to stop. they you tell yourself I am not strong enough to quit and you keep going. even if you lose everything. Gd can help us through anything even if it is impossible to us. He shows us through mentors, friends, the bible, music and sermons that he is always there like a personal trainer helping someone to reach that weight goal they never could. We have to put our trust in him and he will give us the strength to attempt the impossible.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV. Lets us put our trust in God and he shall always be there guiding us in our darkest hours.
